Weston and Worle Cancer Support
Friendship and Understanding, Cancer Help and Support in Abundance
Supporting Since 2010
We are a self-help group for people who have experienced Cancer at close hand, whether as a patient or as a relative/carer of a cancer patient.
It is an opportunity to share experiences, thoughts and fears in a supportive, non-judgmental atmosphere over a cup of coffee and a piece of cake.
We meet for two hours, Thursday 10-12 at The NightJar Pub, during which time there can be a lot of laughter and sometimes a few tears.
A Listening Ear
Group members have benefited greatly by meeting others going through similar emotions. The group has been described by some as a life saver and they look forward to the regular meetings.
A couple of members have described it as empowering and that they are now in control of their Cancer situation, whereas before the cancer was controlling them.
Although we do not offer advice we will try to direct enquiries appropriately, for example to a Macmillan Cancer Information Centre or to support groups for specific cancers where possible.
